WHO needs Charlie Dimmock? Residents on the Abbots Manor estate in Victoria didn’t need much encouragement to get their hands dirty with a Groundforce-style makeover of their gardens.
They were lent a hand this week by staff from housing contractors CityWest Homes and their resident handyman, planting new flower boxes, laying waste to pesky weeds and repainting railings.
Teresa Caiazzo, from the Abbots Manor Residents’ Association, said: “It’s been a lovely day. We have achieved what we set out to do and we hope that people will come out and appreciate and respect it.
“I’m very happy with the results and hope to do it another day in late autumn or early spring next year.”
