Redhook restaurant faces fight to stay open 'til 2am

OBJECTIONS to a plan by the Redhook restaurant in Finsbury to open until 2am have been submitted to Islington Council.
An application for extended hours will be heard by the licensing committee at the Town Hall on Monday afternoon at 4pm.
The Turnmill Street venue, which currently shuts at midnight, is offering to appoint a noise consultant to ensure there will be no disturbances for nearby residents.
But one resident has complained that the area is already “saturated” with late-night bars. The resident added that “the level of urine and vomit in the streets – particularly on Saturday and Sunday mornings – is unacceptable. One local hotel is obliged to hose down their front entrance every morning”.
