ARSENAL Football Club has named Soho-based Centrepoint as its chosen charity for next season.
The Gunners are aiming to raise £500,000 for the homeless charity, who provide accommodation and support to hundreds of vulnerable young people each day.
Arsenal raised a massive £878,000 for sick babies in Great Ormond Street Hospital after a similar fund-raising drive last season. The Bloomsbury children’s hospital is naming a ward after the north London club in return.
Thomas Vermaelen and Bacary Sagna – who will donate a day’s wages along with other first-team players and directors – visited the centre to make the announcement on Wednesday.
