A PIMLICO estate has been named among the best green spaces in the country – the only social housing estate in the country to win the award.
Lillington and Longmoore Gardens estate celebrated the achievement with a special visit from the Lord Mayor of Westminster, councillor Judith Warner.
She dubbed it the “Hanging Gardens of Pimlico”.
Lillington and Longmoore gardening club member Sue Clive said: “The club takes great pride in the garden. We appreciate (head gardener) Alison Weller and her team because they do so much to stimulate interest in gardening on the estate. Everyone has some kind of green space here.”
The estate has been transformed by tireless work of volunteers and help from CityWest Homes managers.
