Poor reception for new dishes

Published: 22 July, 2010

• IT is outrageous that Camden persists in forcing thousands of its leaseholders to stump up nearly £400 for a redundant, unneeded satellite dish system.

The current standard aerial is perfectly capable of receiving digital signals and doesn’t need changing.

Next door in Islington the satellite dish installation fee was capped at £75, and all leaseholders were given the choice of opting out.

Camden”s leaseholders and tenants being treated like milch cows. Please protest to your councillor.

White Elephant IRS System

Forcing leaseholders & tenants to pay for an expensive unnecessary & already obsolete hard wired IRS system is a disgrace - the matter should be challenged in court.

Camden Council gave erroneous information to leaseholders & tenants saying at switch over no one would beable to receive a digital signal with the existing aerials. This is totally false.

The existing aerials will receive a digital signal - the minimum requirement is a digital box @ £20

The £400 cost is way over market price so there is a big profit being made.

Who are the installers & have they tendered? Whoever they are they make a complete mess! The system has a high maintenance charge.

The IRS system does not give internet access & Sky etc are for the individual to subscribe to - so more cost

BT offer access to TV & radio channels, free land line calls as well as internet connection through their phone line. No aerial is required.

Please complain to your MP, Eric Pickles & David Cameron.
