CHILDREN who borrow books from Islington libraries have the chance to win big prizes from the Arsenal FC shop, Odeon cinema, Waterstone’s book shop and Nando’s.
Last year nearly 1,800 young people signed up for the reading challenge. Although aimed mostly at 4 to11-year-olds, children of all ages are also welcome to take part.
Invitation cards for the Reading Challenge are going out to schools to reach every primary age and Year 7 child.
Islington’s libraries are also hosting a programme of 50 science, storytelling and craft events this summer.
