HAMPSTEAD and Kilburn MP Glenda Jackson dropped in to a party to celebrate the work of a lifeline for elderly people.

In Touch is a service run by volunteers which helps pensioners at risk of feeling isolated by setting up a telephone network of friends for them to call. It also runs gardening and book clubs, a prayer group and organises  day trips.

Ms Jackson joined the party for members and volunteers last month at the Marriott Hotel in Maida Vale.
