PUPILS at Argyle Primary School are the proud owners of new state-of-the-art laptop computers thanks to a £20,000 donation from their local bank.
Sixty Year 5 pupils have been given the lightweight technology for use both at school and at home after funding was secured by the e-Learning foundation from the Santander bank’s High Holborn branch. e-Learning is an independent charity that provides IT equipment to disadvantaged children.
Headteacher Laura Wynne said: “We are all absolutely delighted with the generous support which has allowed us to purchase 30 fully locked and fire-walled laptops for our children. This presents a remarkable opportunity for many of our children to access the internet safely, in order to, amongst many other things, research, complete and upload their home learning on to our managed learning environment.”
