FOUR people were arrested after a man was found lying in a West Hampstead street with stab wounds.
Police believe the 39-year-old victim, who is in a serious but stable condition in a central London hospital, knew his attackers.
Detectives denied that the incident was gang-related and said they believed the two men, aged 45 and 51, and two women, 45 and 35, were known to the victim.
One of the suspects was arrested at an address in Iverson Road, where a trail of blood led to where the victim was discovered by officers in Hemstal Road at 1.40am on Friday morning.
The blood trail ran from Iverson Road to the Webheath estate in Netherwood Street, where a second crime scene was set up due to the large amount of blood found. Police say they are unsure exactly where the victim was stabbed or if he was attacked more than once.
Detective Sergeant Eron Smith, of Camden’s Violent Crime Unit, said: “Police in Camden are carrying out a rigorous investigation and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this early stage.”
Sergeant Eddie Odita, of Kilburn Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: “We are investigating a stabbing in Hemstal Road NW6.
“The incident appears to involve parties who are known to one another and is not gang-related.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police is urged to contact us on the numbers provided.”
