A MOTORIST told of her miraculous escape from harm after her car was hit by a bus at a deadly accident blackspot yesterday evening (Wednesday).
Jessica Silverstone, 39, was hit on the passenger side of her Mercedes A-Class estate by a C2 bus as she crossed the junction of Delancey Street and Arlington Road.
Ms Silverstone, who works for a women’s charity in Archway, said: “It took such a whack. When the car stopped moving I thought ‘My God, I’m OK.’”
The impact of the crash threw bus passengers from their seats and pushed the car across the width of the entire junction, buckling one side of the vehicle and deploying a front airbag. Motorcyclist Alphonsus Gerard Stevens was killed in a collision at the exact spot two years ago, one in a long line of accidents at the corner.
