CATCH Souvenir D’Anne Frank in Highgate while you can, before it tours the country – and indeed the world.
For the production, Ensemble Theatre has injected music into Anne Frank’s story, as it weaves together the Hiroshoma bombings and stories of the Holocaust.
“They may have been on different sides during the war,” says Olivier Award nominee Elizabeth Mansfield, who co-wrote the show and performs in it. “But it’s about bringing those two sides together and showing that they both suffered.”
The show has Anne’s 86-year-old cousin Buddy Elias’s blessing. Indeed, he helped co-write segments of the show.
• Souvenir D’Anne Frank is at the Red Hedgehog, 255 Archway Road, N6, on Thursday, October 6, at 7.30pm and Sunday, October 9, at 4pm. Tickets are £18 and £12 (under 18s). Tickets on 0208 348 5050.
