Published: 9 February, 2012
War Horse: Fact & Fiction, a new exhibition at the National Army Museum in Chelsea, explores Michael Morpurgo’s original and hugely popular 1982 children’s book which became an internationally award-winning National Theatre production and now a Stephen Spielberg film to tell the touching real-life stories of war horses and the men who depended on them.
The compelling exhibition draws together the many aspects of War Horse to record the phenomenal journey from page to stage to screen with exclusive objects from Michael Morpurgo, the National Theatre and also original costumes worn by the stars in War Horse film.
This exhibition features objects from museum’s rich collection as well as from animal charities – the Brooke, the RSPCA and The Blue Cross – encouraging visitors to think about the millions of horses which have supported the British Army across time and their enduring legacy.
This is an exhibition for all the family to enjoy with games, interactive displays and heroic stories of horses from history.
