JAZZ at The Oxford in Kentish Town Road is back after the summer break with a fine line-up of musicians playing over the next few weeks.
The weekly gig has been moved from Tuesday to Monday evenings. Previously it steered clear of Mondays to avoid a clash with the Con Cellar Bar which stopped its weekly gig a while ago.
On Monday, the Martin Speake Trio will be delivering its cool-swing jazz based very much on Martin’s alto sax sound triangulating Charlie Parker, Ornette Coleman and Paul Desmond.
Then, a week later, it will be the turn of lyrical tenor sax virtuoso Mark Hanslip lining up with pianist Mike Hurley and Mark Sanders.
They’ll be followed later in the month bassist Ryan Trebilcock’s new band Holler.
