Little happens musically in this song yet so much is evoked lyrically. Lana Del Rey’s single Video Games has no need for tricks. Her sad, low vocals, the steady rising backing track and her repeated coquettish inquiry, “I heard that you like the bad girls, honey is that true?”, are alluring enough. The video’s a winner – Bardot hair, skateboarding, scooters and shaky old camera shots (out Oct 9).
