THERE’S to be much strumming of guitars next month at Bolivar Hall in Fitzrovia. Echoes of the Spanish Civil War will be heard on Friday September 2, when guitarists Claire Sananikone and Rafael Andia present a Musical Tribute to Guernica.
Their multimedia tribute will include performance of guitar works by Falla, Murail, Brouwer and a new piece by Rafael Andia himself.

Opening the festival are new duo, Mexican guitarist Morgan Szymanski and Park Lane violinist Harriet MacKenzie.
Other musicians playing include The Rob Beer Guitar Quartet, Lazhar Cherouna and Celso Machado.
A glorious guitar extravaganza closes the festival on Saturday September 17, when each of the musicians playing at recitals during the week are due to play.
And there’ll be a guitar extravaganza to end the evening when performers of recent years get together to play in Celso Machado’s eight-guitar work, Folguedo.
The closing event is the most popular in the festival and early arrival is recommended to secure a seat.
