A SUPERB series of Sunday evening chamber music concerts is being launched this weekend at the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn.
The monthly concerts are being led by outstanding young violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen (pictured).
She will be joined in the concerts by members of the Honeymead Ensemble.
“We won’t be playing ‘easy listening’ music but then we won’t be playing hard music either,” says Tamsin.
“Rather, I’ve tried to select pieces that I think are very beautiful and very powerful, mixing composers in different settings: Janacek and Schubert in one concert; Beethoven, Kodaly and Dohnanyi in another.”
The first concert this Sunday explores The Romance of the Cello by twinning Schubert’s cello quintet with Glazunov’s rich, rambunctious and deeply Russian quintet.
