Rock and Pop: Record Of The Week - Swimmhaus Johannesburg by Fixers
THIS is the kind of club tune I can live with – vocal-led, urgent electro backing, a speedy drumbeat and a consistent sense of building towards something. Oxford five-piece Fixers say they’re influenced by the Beach Boys but the keyboards are 90s Hacienda while the guitar and vocals in Swimmhaus Johannesburg have more than a shade of the 80s about them.
