LAST week I mentioned Alice Cooper was playing the 100 Club on Sunday, a rare chance to see him up close, I said. Turns out it would have been a rare chance to see the great Johnny Depp up close too, he guested on guitar on School’s Out and I’m Eighteen. And to think I was watching Rod Stewart...

• I’m still not sure how I feel about The Wombles reforming to play Glastonbury. Did anyone really want them there? My dad once asked my sister to show him a real Womble – for the past 20 years he believed those dopey litter-picking creatures were a cuddly version of a living, breathing animal that populates Wimbledon Common.

• I’m counting down the seconds until Pulp play Wireless this weekend. As long as they play Babies, I’m happy.

• Note to Vince Power for next year’s Feis – big screens are essential but most importantly don’t stick the disabled stand so far back they’re caught in the acoustic crossfire with the second stage. Hard Rock Calling did it right, a raised platform with a clear view close enough to see the action, not just the screens.

• The iTunes Festival begins at The Roundhouse tomorrow (Friday). The competition is still open for some of the later dates and the line-up’s looking good – enter now for free tickets.

• Good to see Kentish Town’s Kitty Daisy & Lewis play Glastonbury. They’re still young but they’re mature beyond their years as visible from the BBC coverage.

• Cult rap collective Odd Future caused a riot at the Camden Crawl. See what trouble they can stir up this time at Electric Ballroom (July 5 and 6).
