CALIFORNIAN female foursome Warpaint kept their fans waiting for their exhilarating, shadowy pop. Luckily, the two supports were as tremendous as the girls themselves.
Somewhere between The Jesus and Mary Chain and Joy Division, Brooklyn band Crystal Stilts warmed the room gently.
And New Zealander Connan Mockasin was just the thing the Forum needed to prepare for Warpaint’s enchanting pop.
As the first notes of Warpaint’s hit Undertow piped up, fans sang along to every word. The quartet’s enthusiasm was boundless, and lead singer Emily Kokal’s angelic tones are definitely worth listening to live.
The set ended with an instrumental from the excellent bassists and guitarists, proving Warpaint are not to be missed.
