FINLEY Quaye will headline a very special gig at Barfly Camden on May 22 after he was approached in the Sir Richard Steele pub by determined Haverstock schoolgirl Holly St-George McKenzie.

Holly and best friend Rebecca Christofides, both 17, have put together their first ever event in aid of cancer charity Leuka and pulled in some household names.

Holly said: “My dad knows Finley Quaye from the pub. I met him there once and, spur of the moment, thought I better ask him quick so I went straight up to him.”

Also playing are The Return, The Bon Vivants, Karova, Laura Zocca, Simeon, Scamz and Nevaeh – all hand-picked by Holly and Rebecca.

Holly said: “Me and Rebecca love finding new acts and seeing if they make it big. We were just YouTube-scanning and just emailed them.”

She added: “My uncle cycles for the charity. I’m rubbish at cycling so I decided to do something I’m interested in which is music.

“Somehow everyone’s been affected by cancer, family, friends. My nanny Ivy passed away from cancer.”

• Tickets are £10 on the door or at www.barflyclub.com
