MAGICAL young Irish soprano Anna Devin is returning to north London on Saturday to sing with the Highgate Choral Society in its performance of Handel’s Messiah at St Joseph’s, Highgate Hill.
A year ago, she sang to perfection with the choir in its disappointing Bach B minor mass at All Hallows, Gospel Oak.
Since then she’s made rapid progress in her career, joining the Royal Opera House young singers’ stable and making her Royal Opera House debut singing Papagena in its superb Magic Flute recently.
This Saturday, her handling of Handel’s wonderful soprano solos may well to turn the Messiah into a truly memorable occasion.
