BRILLIANT young Lithuanian pianist Evelina Puzaite – now living in Canonbury, Islington – is playing at Conway Hall in Holborn on Sunday, both as a member of the Cosima Quintet and as part of a trio playing her own composition.
Her piano playing has won plaudits for strength of interpretation and charismatic sensitivity and power. She’s now a regular performer at Wigmore Hall, Barbican and the South Bank, as well as overseas concert halls and festivals.
The programme on Sunday includes Haydn’s quartet in G minor, Elgar’s Nocturne for piano trio and Shostakovich’s piano quintet in G minor as well as Evelina’s new composition.
The Cosima Quintet was formed a year ago with the ambition of playing all the piano quintets ever written.
