THERE'S a treat for early music fans on Saturday at St John’s, Downshire Hill, Hampstead.
The Bach Players have put together a delightful programme contrasting the late 17th-century musical styles of France and Italy, leaving the audience to decide which they prefer.
There’s Corelli in Rome and Lully in Paris. Alongside them in the concert will be various of their contemporaries including Couperin, Muffat and Rebel.
As an additional treat, the Bach Players are being joined for the first time by Jakob Lindberg (pictured), the outstanding Swedish lutenist regarded as one of the finest performers of renaissance and baroque music of his generation.
