GOSPEL Oak bassist Cai Marle-Garcia is to run a weekly jazz jam session every Sunday afternoon at Map Café, the bijou jazz haunt in Grafton Road, Kentish Town.
“I’ll be joined in the jazz jam by a different house band each week comprising some of the hottest names on the jazz scene, many being local musicians who learnt their craft at the Weekend Arts College in Talacre,” says Marle-Garcia who plays with his own fusion group Mr Ears Band.
“Entry is free. But I’ve set up a donation scheme where people can pay what they want, with proceeds going to the North London Hospice, an incredibly worthy cause and one I’ve been close to recently.’
