Feature: Preview - Rosemary Lee’s Square Dances on October 9 & 10

FOLLOWING on from the success of her 2009 Common Dance show, Rosemary Lee’s new commission, Square Dances, will take place across four public squares in Camden this weekend as part of the Dance Umbrella 2011 festival.
Described by the company as migrating birds, arriving as unexpectedly as they disperse, up to 200 dancers of all ages will briefly take over Gordon, Woburn, Queen and Brunswick Squares for a series of free performances.
Betsy Gregory, artistic director of Dance Umbrella said: “I have admired the beauty and integrity of Rosemary Lee’s work for many years and we are delighted to present Square Dances. It will combine two very important aspects of our festival: it provides high quality participation opportunities and it is free-to-view.”
• Rosemary Lee’s Square Dances will take place in Brunswick and Woburn Squares on Saturday and Sunday at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm, and Queen & Gordon Squares at 11am;12pm 1pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. www.danceumbrella.co.uk
