‘Roxy’ reward - Missing parrot appeal - “Give me £2,000 or I’ll kill your bird.”says prank caller

A PET owner searching for her lost parrot says she has been targeted by prank callers after putting up posters appealing for help, writes Emine Sinmaz.
Sheila, 31, who did not want her full name to be printed, said she was called up and told: “Give me £2,000 or I’ll kill your bird.”
Roxy, her beloved parrot, has been missing from her home in Elm Village in Camden Town since April 13.
She flew away while Sheila was sleeping.
“I searched the entire small flat several times with help from friends and once with a sniffer dog.” she said.
“All furniture was pulled forward and completely emptied. Even though I have absolutely no explanation of how she could have possibly got out, I must assume that this somehow happened.”
The circumstances are so peculiar that Sheila has even considered that she may have been sleep-walking or slept through a burglary and has had police check for a potential break-in.
“I’m terribly upset,” she said. “Roxy is my baby, one of the most important beings in my life. She’s extremely tame and responds to a wolf-whistle or her name. She likes to play and interact with humans.”
