Drugs racket halted after massive cocaine find

Undercover drugs squad detectives who trailed cars from Finsbury Park and across the Thames to London Bridge discovered that the drivers were involved in drugs racket.
When the vehicles driven by a cociane dealer and his lover were halted before the return journey, a kilo of coke worth £26,000 was found in a rucksack belonging to Pasquale Corda.
And his girlfriend, Johanna Garcia, had £7,000 on her, the Old Bailey heard.
The pair, both 29, of Bermondsey, together with Daladiev Gonzalez-Jamarillo, 33, and Julian Olmos-Velez, 28, from New North Road, Islington were convicted yesterday (Monday) of taking part in a conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
The judge, Recorder William Clegg, QC, said they were among a network of couriers working cor a Colombian gang based in the North East of the UK. Corda was jailed for nine years and Garcia for five years. Gonzalez-Jamarillo was sentenced to eight years and Olmos-Velez to five years.
