DRINKERS at the Angel pub dashed out to help a man in his 20s who had been hit by a double-decker bus in Upper Street yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
Leonard Rodruez, 73, said: “The young man was crossing the road, the bus hit him and swerved into a traffic light island. Everyone from the pub ran out to try and help him but a doctor who was working nearby gave him first aid. The lad was smartly dressed and the bus knocked him flying. He was out cold but there wasn’t any blood. He narrowly escaped getting dragged underneath.”
A Met Police spokesman said: “We were called at 3pm to a collision with a bus and pedestrian at the junction of Pentonville Road and the high street. The pedestrian was taken to the Royal London Hospital.”
