A CONSERVATIVE councillor has been criticised for posting a Twitter message branding motorbike protesters as “tossers”.
The campaign group fighting Westminster Council’s motorbike parking charge said the remark made by the Runnymede councillor Daniel Hamilton was “an immature public slur” and demanded an apology.
Remarking on one of the regular “ride slow” demonstrations in the West End, Cllr Hamilton said: “Traffic around Trafalgar Square completely paralysed because of some tossers blocking the road in protest at Tory stealth taxes”.
Warren Djanogly, head of the No to Bike Parking Tax group, said: “Here we have a Conservative activist labelling a group of people who are standing up for themselves as ‘tossers’. He should apologise.”
