Somali salute: MP praises women
MP EMILY Thornberry met two Somali women’s groups at a celebration of the Eid al-Adha Festival on the Bemerton estate in Islington.
The Labour MP for Islington South handed over certificates to women who had completed courses in sewing and maths.
She said: “I am very grateful for the hospitality and support from the women I met in Ashraf Somali and the Somali Speakers Women’s Association. The women in these groups are dedicated to working hard to help others improve their skills, and are great leaders of their community.”
