Bus crash cyclist loses life after collision in Oxford Street

A WOMAN cyclist has died after a collision involving two buses in Oxford Street.
The unnamed victim, 25, suffered fatal injuries in the collision at lunchtime on Wednesday in front of hundreds of onlookers. Next of kin have been informed.
Police said a 59-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by not driving with due care and attention and has been released on police bail until June.
A pedestrian was also injured in the collision that brought the area by the junction with Tottenham Court Road to a standstill.
One of the buses became impaled on part of a bus shelter, smashing its windscreen.
A Transport for London spokesman said: “We will work with the police and the bus company, Metroline, to investigate the incident fully.”
