Pole position for cyclists - New Cyclehoop installed

BICYCLES chained against these railings will be removed – it is the blunt message that cyclists hate the most. But now the search for a place to chain up their wheels in Camden has become easier since15 lampposts were converted into locking stations. It is hoped a new invention, the Cyclehoop (pictured), will make it easy for cyclists to latch onto a lamppost.
The add-ons do not require any drilling into the ground and if a trial proves popular, the scheme will be expanded across Camden. It is the first area in the country to try out the idea. Lib Dem Cycling Champion Councillor Paul Braithwaite said: Camden Council’s Cycling Champion, Councillor Paul Braithwaite, said: “These new Cyclehoops will provide a welcomed extra amenity and they’re a modest solution which won’t be too intrusive on our cluttered streetscape.”
