CAMDEN Mayor Omar Faruque Ansari, arrested last month in a benefit investigation, is meeting with police officers this afternoon as his bail expired.
He was arrested in at the Town Hall by investigators from the Department of Work and Pensions probing benefits claims relating to a neck injury. Cllr Ansari, who has been suspended from the Liberal Democrat group since the day of his arrest, has publicly declared his innocence.
Cllr Ansari is on long term sick leave after suffering a heart attack in the days following his arrest.
