PUT David Miliband (above) in a social setting and it has been said he can appear to be a bit uptight. When the Foreign Minister gave Labour MP Emily Thornberry, who represents a cliff-hanging marginal seat in Islington South, a helping hand with canvassing on Friday, a colleague asked him to pick his election campaign song. Unimaginably, he plumped for Things Can Only Get Better, the D-Ream song that became Labour’s anthem in 1997. This weekend the Sunday Times revealed the band’s keyboard player Brian Cox intends to vote for the Lib Dems. And who threatens to unseat Thornberry? The Lib Dems.
