Her body was found by council workmen in a yard by the old York Road railway station, off York Way.

 

Now, friends in their hundreds - communicating through Facebook pages - are calling for a mass candlelit vigil from 7pm to 8pm on the Delhi Outram Estate, on Wednesday evening.

 

Relatives of Ben Kinsella, killed in a stabbing in June 2008, have promised to help family and friends organise a march to remember Jessie.

 

Where hundreds turned out in white for Ben, Jessie's friends have been asked to wear pink - her favourite colour.

"Bubbly" Jessie's death has rocked the community who live on the estate, just off Caledonian Road, with many unable to understand how such a young life could have come to such a violent end. A post-mortem found she died from neck injuries.

 

Stevie Parker, 17, who grew up with Jessie and is organising the vigil, said: "I've known her my whole life. I loved her so much but now she's gone it's made me realise how much. She loved going down to the West End to Top Shop. She loved Hula Hoops and hummus together, her favourite cafe was Dallas. Sometimes she couldn't be bothered to get dressed so she'd go out in pyjamas and Uggs. She was full of so much life."

 

Friends spent the last few days visiting the spot where she was found dead, laying flowers, teddies, cans of her favourite drink, Coke, and singing Jessie's most well-loved songs: Mark Morrisson's Return of the Mac, Lady Gaga's Just Dance and Jay by Lauren Mason. They have asked the Press to use blonde pictures of Jessie, who didn't like being a brunette.

 

One said: "She liked her hair blonde. She loved her hair curly with a bit of mousse in it. She loved her spray tan."

 

Another, Lauren Kearney, 18, said: "She had a right little chatty voice. She just had an impact on so many people. She was the baby, the youngest of the group."

 

Members of her family attended a service at St Andrew's Church, Thornhill Square, on Sunday.

Friend Gina, who did not want to give her last name, said: "She was like my little cousin. I love her so much and miss her deeply. She will forever be in my heart. She was the best, funniest outgoing person. She used to love going out. Her favourite place was Opera House in Tottenham. She was always there for other people. She was a lovely girl. There's nothing you can do to bring her back."

 

Ward councillor Paul Convery, who knew Jessie by sight, said: "She's one of the few girls who used to hang out in the neighbourhood. I remember seeing her and her friends having a picnic in Bingfield Park."
