West End Extra Online - First with the news about the Fanfest u-turn
FIRST again!
The West End Extra and its sister newspaper, the New Journal, exclusively revealed the GLA’s U-turn on our website on Tuesday.
We are now filling our website with news updates every day, so don’t forget to check in regularly on this site at: www.westendextra.com and www.camdennewjournal.com
. . . and right on the story
Since plans for the “fan zone” emerged in January the West End Extra, and its online site, has led the coverage.
We were first to report the nascent residents’ campaign, the Freedom of Information revelation that parks bosses scheduled more than 40 private events in the park for 2010 and opposition by Dame Judi Dench and Ralph Armond over the potential impact on the open air theatre and London Zoo.
When rumours of a GLA withdrawal first emerged on Monday afternoon, the race for official confirmation began. A leaked document was enough. Minutes later the story appeared exclusively on the website.
Other newspapers took their lead from us, looking to our website, before reporting the story through the day.
