MEET the new chairman of Chapel Market Traders Association, David Twydell and his wife Pamela.
David, 53, a father of four and grandfather of seven, from Barnsbury, has been selling fruit from a stall for most of his life.
“The big issues include getting more stalls into the market,” he said. “We could easily fit in another 50 or more stalls.
“We also want more promotion and publicity. And people should clear up their rubbish after them.
“The public toilets are also leaking and need repairing.
“We should all be proud of the market, which has stood the test of time.”
David follows Peter Stylianou, who has a ladies fashion stall and has steadfastly chaired the Association for seven years.
Peter said: “It was time for me to retire but I’m sure David will do a great job representing our interests.”
