Mystery surrounds Joanne Cash resignation as Karen Buck's Conservative opponent
BY JAMIE WELHAM
JOANNE Cash has resigned as the Tory Party candidate for Westminster North less than four months before the expected General Election date.
Ms Cash, a media barrister, was widely viewed as one of David Cameron's high profile A-list candidates and was tipped to wrestle the seat away from the labour MP Karen Buck when the country goes to the polls.
She made the mysterious resignation at an emergency meeting of the Westminster Conservative Association last night (Monday).
Ms Cash was selected to fight the newly created Westminster North seat in 2006 and has been photographed with Mr Cameron on numerous occasions. Nobody from the Association was available for comment.
