FAST Show actress Arabella Weir is the latest famous face to swing behind the campaign to save Accident and Emergency department at the Whittington Hospital in Highgate.
She said: "I'm dead set against it. They helped my husband stay alive. I live about a mile east from the hospital and I wouldn't want to make the long journey to the Royal Free. It's just too far. It is no brainer."
The Camden New Journal and Islington Tribune joined campaigners in December to kick start the campaign against the proposal to remove the emergency department. Last week, the likes of Nick Hornby, Lord Melvyn Bragg and Tariq Ali voiced their own concerns. A protest march is planned for Saturday February 27.
