So where will the homeless get their free meals from?
Open letter to Camden and Islington councils
• We wish to appeal for help and direction (Fines drive food charity off road – group hit with parking ticket blitz, July 28).
If we are doing the wrong thing then we need to be redirected or stopped and if we are doing the right thing then let’s crack on with the job.
We have been serving Camden and Islington’s marginalised community for the last 23 years through the provision of two day centres and healthy meals.
A small minority of politicians believe in the concept that if we provide food for the homeless then they will not go to housing and income services.
This has been conclusively disproved at the London School of Economics.
There are countless people in Camden and Islington boroughs who have no access to housing or income support.
Where will they get their meals from?
In our survey 72 per cent said they will be forced to turn to crime.
So if you want to shut down our operation then you have to make a joint council decision and I will go along with your conclusion.
