TWO men have been stabbed on Regent’s Canal towpath just minutes apart in an apparent random attack. A 30-year-old cyclist was stabbed in the back as he rode past two men on the towpath close to the Packington estate at 8.45pm on Sunday evening, January 24.
Only realising he had been stabbed when he arrived home, he called an ambulance, was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
Five minutes after the first attack, a couple were walking along the towpath when they were approached by two men. One suspect threatened the victim, then slashed him twice in the face, narrowly missing his eye.
The victims fled the scene and were helped by passers-by. An ambulance was called and the man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but not life threatening condition.
