REGULARS at a Camden Town park say they aim to “reclaim” it from drink and drug addicts – starting tomorrow (Friday) with an outdoor performance of a play exploring the problems of “vulnerable people”.
St Martin’s Gardens in Pratt Street was last month witness to the tragic suicide of a 27-year-old father-of-two. The play, Little Bear, aims to offer “catharsis to those who have endured trials and tribulations of adolescence”.
Writer Ryan Sullivan spoke to youngsters in the area about their worries. These “individual demons” have been spun into a “dark fairytale” that is suitable for all ages.
Maureen Patterson, from the Friends of St Martin’s group, said: “It has been sad, recently. We want to reclaim the park and bring some happiness back for the children here.”
