20th century is at risk
Published: July 28, 2011
I WAS very upset to see that the old polytechnic building in Prince of Wales Road (pictured) might be pulled down for flats.
Why are so many old places being pulled down to make way for these ugly flats to be built and they won’t last so long? It is like people wanting to put an extra floor on a 1930s block of flats, called Northview, which is in Islington. The thing is less known 20th-century architecture can be particularly at risk as well.

Protect 187 Kentish Town Road… This is an important heritage asset and most certainly should not be demolished. Please support our cause and file objections to this ridiculous appeal. Go to: www.planningportal.gov.uk/planning/appeals/online/comment

Appeal
Submitted by Anonymous on Wed, 2011-08-03 12:09.Hello,
I went to the site to appeal against the redevelopment, but am unable to find the property 187 Kentish Town on the site.
The only concrete information I can find is a development application from December last year - which was, fortunately, refused. There are a few documents available for view here. http://planningonline.camden.gov.uk/MULTIWAM/showCaseFile.do?appType=Pla...
If it is up for redevelopment again, I would like to object to it. Does anyone know where this could be done?
Thanks
V
