WHIP-crack-away! Whip-crack-away! Whip-crack-away!”
An audience at Camden School for Girls was transported to Dakota last week for a student performance of Wild West musical Calamity Jane.
The production, featuring an all-female cast from years 7-11 and a band including some sixth-formers, was put together by a combination of students, staff and professionals at the Sandall Road school.
It tells the story of US frontier figures Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickock, and was adapted in the 1960s from the highly successful feature film of the same name starring Doris Day.
