A LEADING gay charity has struck a deal to buy its office building from the Town Hall – but still needs to raise the cash.
London Friend has worked from the office in Caledonian Road for 20 years. Facing massive cuts, the Town Hall decided to sell the building – leading the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) charity fearing a new landlord could hike its rent.
Now, the council has agreed that it can buy the building for about £200,000.
But the charity needs to raise funds to secure the deal.
