RAIN failed to dampen spirits of bargain-hunters when they flocked to St Saviour’s Church in Chalk Farm for the annual summer garden party.
Church member Ken Ellis transformed himself into poet-rapper DJ K to read poems by John Donne in one of the highlights of the afternoon.
The Rev Paul Nicholson said: “The weather was against us so it couldn’t be a proper summer party as it was held indoors, but we weren’t going to be put off by the rain.” Last Saturday’s event raised £600 for church funds.
The following day the church hosted a charity concert by Belsize Community Choir.
