MANAGERS at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) say no decisions have yet been made regarding future security on campus in light of last week’s clashes between students and police. Jasper Kain, co-president of SOAS Students’ Union said a meeting between students and management staff which had been due to take place this week had been postponed. Five people were arrested during the scuffles last Monday during protests outside a lecture by universities minister David Willetts.

A spokeswoman for SOAS denied that the university had ever decided to “lockdown” on demonstrations, as suggested in last week’s issue.
