THOUSANDS of revellers ignored the weather warnings on Saturday as they flooded to Highgate to enjoy the festivities of another successful Fair in the Square, writes Steve Barnett.
Visitors brought Pond Square to a standstill as they gathered to watch a whole host of colourful acts, including the Highgate Choral Society, the William Ellis School Jazz Band and juggling group Dodgy Whiskers.
Excited children were all smiles as they got balloon hats from Miss Ballooniverse, while they also enjoyed a bouncy castle, a climbing wall, the chance to learn how to juggle and a Punch and Judy show.
Marje Isabelle, who chairs the fair committee and whose full-time job is fundraiser for the Whittington Hospital, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the Fair in the Square on Saturday, June 16, 2012!”
