A PENTONVILLE prison officer has been jailed for smuggling mobile phones to an inmate with whom she had struck up an illicit relationship.
Lisa Lynette Harris, 27, pleaded guilty at Blackfriars Crown Court to three counts of wilful misconduct in a public office.
She admitted smuggling two mobile phones into prison, knowing the inmate had the phone, and having contact with him via the phone.
Ms Harris was arrested in February last year after being caught with a mobile phone as she entered HMP Pentonville.
Investigating officer TDC Lorraine Simpson said: “Harris maintained an inappropriate relationship with a serving prisoner, passing mobile phones into the establishment for him and flagrantly ignoring her duty.
“In partnership with the HM Prison Service, we will continue to demonstrate our commitment to investigating those suspected of being involved in corrupt activity.”
