A FORMER Grey Coat schoolgirl is set to make her debut as a professional playwright.
Lola Stephenson, 24, started writing plays when she was at the Church of England comprehensive in Pimlico.
Now her full-length comedy, NIMBY, which explores what happens when people are forced to choose between their principles and their quality of life, is set to open on the London fringe.
Ms Stephenson said that she has always written, from rants about history essays, to rambling descriptions of getting drunk in parks.
She added: “I went to university and studied English and Drama, where I spent a fair amount of time rolling around the floor in avant-garde performances and writing essays on Shakespeare’s Freudian tendencies.”
• NIMBY is at the Old Red Lion from June 8-25.
